Community Helpers

We are getting ready for a long Labor Day weekend but we are making sure to focus on our Community Helpers first!  We did several great art projects this week as we learned about the different people in our community that help make it a better place to live.  They made a garbage truck from shapes, an ambulance, a doctor bag, a baker who sorted cookies by shape, a letter with the letters of their name for the mailman, and of course a firefighter!  I can't even begin to tell you all the occupations the classrooms discussed!

Pre-K made a chart as they learned about the different community helpers and what they do for all of us!  They also made a heart and each child gave input to thank a special worker in our community!

The Toddlers made a poster for one of their teacher's friends who is a police officer.  What a sweet gesture!

It is so neat to think what a difference our two hands can make!  We are truly thankful for everyone who uses their hands to make our world a better place!
For our cooking project this week, we pretended to be construction workers and "build" houses- gingerbread houses of course!
Our letter of the week was E.  Some classrooms made "E is for elephant" while others did "E is for Eagle"!  Several classrooms did art activities with our number of the week as well!
We hope you all have an awesome Labor Day weekend!  Enjoy time with family and friends!  Thank you for all you do for our community!
