A Camping We Will Go!!

We are getting our campfire ready to roast some S'Mores!  Several classrooms made campfires using their hand-prints and another classroom used small sticks and pieces of paper to make a fire.

When talking about camping, we have to discuss the animals we might see out in the woods!  We are really hoping we never run into some of them!  They made owls and skunks and bear masks!

We also talked about catching lightning bugs in a jar and using a lantern to find our way in the dark.  The Waddlers even made their own lanterns to take home with them!

Of course, we have to have some fun in some tents this week!  The children really enjoyed pretending like they were in the woods and actually camping out!

I love these displays because who doesn't love roasting S'Mores?!  One classroom turned it into their birthday board while another group made lightning bugs and pretend sticks to roast marshmallows!

All this talk about S'Mores had us craving them!  For our cooking project this week, the children made an edited version of a S'More- graham cracker, chocolate icing, and a marshmallow!  Looks like they were a big hit!

We also had fun with our letter of the week!  Some rooms made "r is for rabbit" while others did "r is for rooster".

Our color was green and our shape was a circle so the 2 year olds had fun painting with green circles!
