A Camping We Will Go!

This week we got to really use our imagination!  We pretended all week to go on a camping trip together!  The children learned about the great outdoors and even what makes a shadow!  To demonstrate this, they played with flashlights and tried to make shadows themselves!

One of the classrooms set up an actual tent in their room to make a special place for quietly reading books.

For our cooking project this week, the children made S'Mores!  It really doesn't get much better than graham crackers, chocolate, and marshmallows!
The children also made binoculars and fishing poles to pretend with.  For a math activity, they had to try to catch a certain number of fish!  Camping can be so much fun!  Especially indoors!  :)
Of course we can't wrap up the week without some work on our letter of the week, "r".  The children made "r is for rooster" which of course is RED!
