We had a short week this week since we were closed 2 days due to SNOW but we still were able to squeeze in some great activities for dental week! Several classrooms made their own toothbrushes including one big, giant toothbrush!
Of course, we have to talk about our pearly whites! The 3 year old and Pre-K classroom did a neat math activity with number recognition. The Pre-K class even had some fun with addition and subtraction as they added and took away teeth.
One classroom pretended to "brush away the plaque" by painting a yellow tooth with white paint!
During stations, the children "flossed" play-doh out of mega blocks as they pretended the blocks were teeth.
We also talked about foods that are good and bad for our teeth. The children sorted the foods out and glued them onto sad and happy teeth.
Our letter of the week was "d" so we made "d is for dinosaur". One classroom even incorporated spelling their names into the activity.
Our dinosaurs had triangles on them, which is our shape of the week. The Waddlers also made a triangle collage!
