Hip, hip, HOORAY! Let's all cheer for the Red, White, & Blue! We are celebrating our great country this week and getting ready for the 4th of July! The Pre-K class worked together to make a giant flag using their handprints to display in their room!
Our 3 year old class made necklaces to proudly wear during our parade at the end of the week. They talked about creating patterns while working on their fine motor skills.
Of course, we can't talk about Independence Day without fireworks! For an art project, the children got to make their very own fireworks!
As a sensory activity, the children used red, white, and blue water beads to try to make an American flag. The water beads were a huge hit and even the adults in the building enjoyed playing with them!
One class made Rocket Launchers by using a straw. They had competitions to see who's rocket could go the farthest!
At the end of the week, we had a 4th of July Parade in our hallway. All of the classrooms made different items to sport during the parade including, hats, "fireworks", necklaces, "sparklers", noise makers, etc. They had a great time marching up and down the hallway to patriotic music!
When talking about all things American, we can't forget about a traditional dessert- Apple Pie and Ice Cream! The children made their own Mini Apple Pies and they were a huge hit!
Even with all this fun, we still focused on our letter of the week, "v". The children made "v is for volcano"!
We hope you all have a wonderful 4th of July holiday and enjoy time with family and friends! We sure to live in a great country and have a lot to be thankful for!
