We started out this week talking about Groundhog's Day since it was this last Sunday. We are SO sad that the Groundhog saw his shadow because you know what that means- 6 more weeks of winter. YUK!
The Older 1's made Groundhog Cupcakes! |
They went on a hunt around the school for Groundhogs! |
This class made Groundhog Puppets that would pop up out of their "hole"! |
The children also made Freedom Quilts and learned about Rosa Parks, the Underground Railroad, and George Washington Carver's work with peanuts.
We are looking forward to learning much more about these significant African Americans over the next several weeks!
