Happy Thanksgiving!

We are SO incredibly excited about Thanksgiving and we have so much to be thankful for!  How cute are these?!
The children took home feathers to write down things they were thankful for with their parents to make their turkey.
Turkeys here, turkeys there, turkeys everywhere!  The children had fun with lots of different art projects this week!

For our cooking project this week, the children made Cranberry Pineapple Salad for us to enjoy with all the parents at our Thanksgiving lunch.  It's the perfect amount of sweet to enjoy at the end of a delicious feast!
On Tuesday, we invited all of our families to join us for lunch!  We had a great turn out and fed about 120 people!  A huge thanks to Mrs. Renee for cooking a delicious meal that everyone enjoyed!

We hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!  We are so thankful for you and your sweet children!

Indians and Pilgrims

To get ready for Thanksgiving, we are learning about Indians and Pilgrims and the First Thanksgiving!  There have been so many fun art projects and activities going on this week.  One classroom made a place mat that they could use at home for their Thanksgiving meal and used their hands to look like a Pilgrim, Indian, and of course a turkey!  They also made Teepees from brown paper lunch sacks!
Are these Totem Poles not so fun?!  I love all the details and how interesting each piece is!
Of course we have to have some fun with making our own Pilgrim and Indian outfits!  I may be bias, but I think we have the cutest Indians around!

For the letter P, we had parrots all over the building but we also had some super cute Pilgrims!
One of the classrooms made their very own Mayflower with fun representations of each child!  What a fun way to learn about the First Thanksgiving!

Transportation

As we get ready to travel to different Thanksgiving meals, we are talking about modes of transportation this week!  The children enjoyed learning about cars, airplanes, trains, and even hot air balloons!

We love dramatic play at Sunflower Station!  This class had fun pretending to fly like airplanes and ride on a train.  For their train ride, they had tickets and everything!  Not to mention, a really cute conductor!
The week is never complete without some fun with our letter of the week!  Some classrooms made owls while other kiddos made an octopus!  To continue with our transportation theme, the 3 year olds made "O cars" using their fingerprint and fruit loops!
Our cooking project this week was Oatmeal Bars!  The children really enjoyed these tasty treats!
We hope you are careful and safe if you have any travels coming up for Thanksgiving!

Ecosystems

Since the temperatures are changing outside, we took this time to talk about different ecosystems and the different temperatures in each of them.  The Toddlers had fun with sensory bins for the Snowy Mountains, the grasslands, the deserts, and the ocean.

We also enjoyed learning about the different animals that we might see in each biome.  They did some fun art work with birds, snakes, and fish!

This artwork is so precious and the children were able to learn so much from these activities!
Even our letter of the week activity was about animals- "N is for Nest"!
Hopefully this change in temperature doesn't have us all sick by the end of the week!  Stay well!
