It's a short week this week but we have so much to do! On Monday, we worked on getting ready for our Thanksgiving Lunch on Tuesday. The children made several turkeys for their art projects and made Cranberry Pineapple Salad for the cooking project so that we can enjoy it for dessert after lunch!
For lunch on Tuesday, we invited our parents, grandparents, and anyone else who wanted to join us for a Thanksgiving Lunch! A HUGE thanks to Mrs. Renee for a fabulous lunch of turkey, dressing, green beans, sweet potato casserole, and a roll. The parents seemed to really enjoy it and it was a huge success!
We hope you all have a very Happy Thanksgiving and enjoy time with family and friends!

Indians and Pilgrims
We are getting ready for Thanksgiving by learning about Indians and Pilgrims this week! The children made Indian outfits to wear while having a Pow Wow at school! They marched up and down the hall and sounded great as Indians!
The Pre-K class made a Totem Pole together. Each child decorated a piece of it and then they put all of them together!
This week's letter is "N". Some classrooms made "N is for Nest" and other classrooms did "N is for Numbers".
We are looking forward to next week and having Thanksgiving Lunch with our parents!

Transportation
With the Thanksgiving holiday coming up, we know a lot of us will be traveling to spend time with family. This gives us the perfect opportunity to learn about the different types of transportation. Not many us will by flying on an airplane but just in case, the children decorated their own airplane!
The two year olds found a fun way to practice spelling their names by making a Choo Choo Train!
We even had a car wash in one classroom!
Our letter of the week is "M" so the children made "M is for Mouse". One classroom combined our letter and number of the week by making a mouse that had 3 Fruit Loops on his tail!
If you are traveling for Thanksgiving, we hope you have a safe trip!

Nutrition
After all the candy and sweets, it's time to let about Nutrition and what is healthy for us! The three year olds actually made their own Food Pyramid.
Several classes sorted out good foods and bad foods.
The Steak Out cow even came to visit us to tell us about eating healthy!
While it's important to eat healthy, we also have stay clear of germs and prevent spreading them! To learn about covering our mouth when we sneeze, the children made their very own reminder!
The children also did a lot of exercises in their classrooms and up and down our hallway! Be sure to take care of yourself too!

Pumpkins, Bats, and More!
Boo!!! We have had such a fun time this week talking about spiders, pumpkins, bats, skeletons, ghosts, etc! The 3's and Pre-K children learned about bats and how they find food through Echolocation. Each classroom scooped out the "guts" of a pumpkin and then decorated their pumpkin to put on our front porch.
For our cooking project, we made Pumpkin muffins. The children loved them and the school smelled delicious!
The best part of this week is our Pumpkin Rotations and Pumpkin Party! Take a look at all the fun we had!
